Last week, Huda Beauty launched her newest Liquid mattes (…aka liquid lipsticks) and I was able to get my hands on 3 shades from the line. The entire range was available on shophudabeauty.com but I ordered mine from Sephora.com. Although for whatever reason, Sephora did not stock all the colors in the range as they only had 5 colors to purchase, but I picked 3 out of the 5 to review for you all. The colors that I purchased are (as described by Sephora.com):
Bombshell: Subtle pinkish nude
Spice Girl: 90’s brownish mauve
Trophy Wife (also my favorite): Rose wood
The liquid mattes retail for $20 a piece with 1.7 fl oz of product in each tube. As expected with Huda beauty, the outer packaging is super cool, with Huda’s lips holding the actual lipstick:
The actual tube of the liquid lipstick has a really nice matte finish with Huda’s logo. It’s simple and clean, I love it!
I heard a lot of rave about the formula of these liquid lipsticks, with many saying this is the best liquid lipstick they have ever tried. After testing these out myself, I do have to say that the formula is pretty impressive. The consistently is veryyyyyy thin and liquid-y, but somehow, the three colors that I purchased are still very pigmented. Because the formula is super thin, it is very comfortable on the lips and does not move while drinking or eating. I had a good 6 hours of wear with these yesterday before I had to remove and re-apply.
Out of the three shades shown above, my favorite is Trophy Wife, which is such a beautiful pink shade. I would say is universally flattering and would look good on all skintones. Bombshell is again a bit too light for me, but mixing it with a darker lip liner makes it wearable. I am not the biggest fan of Spice Girl as I didn’t like the color for my skin, but that’s just a personal preference.
Overall, I do like the formula and highly recommend Trophy Wife if you guys are looking for a stunning pink shade. Most colors are sold out at the moment but I am sure they will be restocked in the near future so definitely keep a lookout!
